Marine Life Profiles (Waikiki Aquarium)

Whether you're doing a report for school or are just interested in marine life, you'll find marine life facts, habitat information, and bibliographies at the Waikiki Aquarium web site. The profiles are available in a number of popular formats, and represent more than 100 species of marine plants and animals. There is also information on the Waikiki Aquarium, its exhibits and the research done here.

Navigating Change: 5 piece educational video sailing the Polynesian voyaging canoe through the Hawaiian archipelago to inspire people to help better our island home.

The Northwestern Hawaiian Islands Coral Reef Assessment and Monitoring Program (NOWRAMP) is a multi-agency, multi-year effort that began in 2000. NOWRAMP's objective is to rapidly evaluate and map the shallow water reef habitats in the NWHI.

"The Science of Marine Reserves" video (15 minutes) and booklet. These resources provide the latest scientific information about reserves in an understandable and accessible format. They are designed to be used by natural resource managers, government officials, scientists and the interested public. School Support Program, The Waikiki Aquarium is a popular field trip site for groups of all kinds. Group visits at the Aquarium include: Docent-Assisted Visits for school groups, grades K through sixth, and Self-Guided Visits for community groups and students of all grade levels, preschool through college. Outreach programs and special presentations are also available. Advanced reservations are required for all group visits. To make a reservation, contact the education department at (808) 440-9011.
